This mainsail is made from a tightly woven polyester cloth, providing a long-lasting sail which provides many years of good service. The classic cross-cut construction is a widely used design producing sails at competitive prices.

The woven polyester used for our ALISIO segment is a durable and economical fabric ideal for recreational cruising.

The trioptimal construction allows panels radiating from the sail corners and following the load lines through the sail. Different fabric weights can be used to reduce the sail weight. The horizontal full battens help keep the shape, and when lowering the sail, it practically packs itself in to the lazy jack or zippack.

The polyester laminate we use in our ALISIO segment is a price conscious choice. It comes in white and grey

eXRP Cruise is a high-end laminate, where the main parts of the material are made from recycled polyester, that is the UV-protective film, the taffeta, and the polyester fibers. The combination of black polyester fibers and white taffeta makes up for a greyish look. The eXRP cruise comes in 3 qualities where the heaviest is further stabilized with UPE virgin fibers.

The EPEX construction with optimum fiber distribution provides a non-stretch, stable sail shape.

Material

Taffeta used as an outside layer on both sides adds strength and durability to the sail. It improves resistance against UV, tear, flex and chafe. Taffeta is available in light grey and white. The fiber combination Vectran / Polyester is a popular and competitive cruising choice.
