These systems, allowing to lock the halyard, are used on removable forestays for Staysails or Gennakers. Of the benefits, they reduce the compression on the mast and make the fitting of sails on removable forestays easier. At last, this simple and efficient device makes the halyard locking/unlocking easy and safe. The Facnor lock tremendously eases the use of flying forestays (no need of 2-to-1 block anymore). |
